Environmental Workshops
Building a seat ‘by the community for the community’.
In June 2012, ARCC partnered with many of the different environmental organisations at the Centre to host free Environmental Workshops for Environment Week 2012.
The Bower, Marrickville Community Nursery, Reverse Garbage, Nature Connected and ECEEN all participated with activities including building a seat ‘by the community for the community’ out of re-use materials and sustainable timbers. This is now located at the community composting site.
We also planted a native garden to attract desirable insects and a compost workshop was held to encourage people to compost at the centre for the launch of the community composting.
